Shankarananda Kalakshetra is a premier centre in Hyderabad for the classical arts.
                                

                                
                                    Students are trained in the practical aspects of Bharatanatyam, its theory, talam,
                                    history, legend and myths , and philosophy . Senior students are also taught,
                                    Nattuvangam and choreography. Other course offers include an annual summer
                                    intensive, invitations to performances, and exposure to world-class artists and
                                    performances.
                                

                                
                                    Admissions : Students will only be admitted into the program with
                                    the approval of
                                    the Artistic Director. Traditionally, new students join on Vijayadasami, an
                                    auspicious day in the Hindu calendar. Admissions are accepted thrice a year
                                        : July,
                                        Vijayadashami day of every year, and January. Minimum age for joining
                                    is 7 years of
                                    age.
